Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 now official, Snapdragon 888 with built-in fan,

Lenovo is again banking hard into the gaming smartphone market with the new Legion Phone Duel 2. It again focuses more on a landscape orientation and has been upgraded to the flagship-class Qualcomm snapdragon 888 platform with its own built-in fan system.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 fits in a large 6.92-inch 2460 x 1080 AMOLED display that has a peak brightness of 1,300nits, 111.1% DCI-P3 coverage, support for HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is able to maintain a full screen since Lenovo has moved the Samsung GH1+-powered 44MP f/2.0 onto its own platform that pops up at the side since its focus is on live streamers.

Its main rear cameras are in the middle of the back since, again, the device focuses on the landscape orientation for gaming. It has a 64MP f/1.9 main camera with an OmniVision OV64A sensor and a 16MP f/2.2 secondary ultrawide lens. As you can tell, the Legion logo in the middle also lights up in RGB because no gaming device is complete without lighting.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also gets a built-in cooling system for stable performance as well as eight remappable triggers for additional controls in games.

The Legion Phone Duel 2 has a 5,500mAh battery that supports up to 90W charging. The smartphone, however, will only be bundled with a 65W charger. Two ports USB Type-C ports at the bottom and at the side are available for charging.

Price and Availability

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 will initially be available in Europe in two variants:

  • 12GB/256GB – EUR 799 (PhP 46,000)
  • 16GB/512GB – EUR 999 (PhP 58,000)

The 16GB/512GB model will be bundled with a charging dock. No word yet if the 18GB version will appear in other markets aside from China.
