Lenovo has announced a slew of new gaming notebooks under the Legion 5 series. These new gaming devices now sport updated specifications such as AMD Ryzen Renoir CPUs or Intel’s latest 10th generation processors.
The Lenovo Legion 5 series is composed of several notebooks, the Legion 5, Legion 5Pi and the Legion 5i. These three come with their own unique specifications from one another but they share the same design language and features.
The Legion 5 series of notebooks come with Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 cooling system. This cooling system allows the GPU and CPU of the notebooks to push their limits to gain consistent framerates without thermal throttling.
Lenovo is also banking on improved battery lives across their new range of gaming notebooks. Thanks to Advanced Optimus designed in collaboration with NVIDIA, the GPU will automatically switch from the dedicated NVIDIA GPU to the processor’s integrated GPU to preserve battery life. These notebooks can also charge from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes provided by Rapid Charge Pro.
Users can turn off Advanced Optimus via the Lenovo Vantage software in case you want more control over the GPU switching. Speaking of software, fan speeds can be put in Performance, Quiet, or Balance via the Lenovo Q-Control 3.0.
