Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro Review – Modern day Multitasker Laptop

In today’s modern world we need a reliable laptop that can be our digital companion to be more productive, and entertained and of course, that can last as we can do.

We got hold of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro and for the past few weeks, I’ve been using it as my primary laptop.

We will be sharing the top things we like about the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro in terms of 3 aspects

    1. Productivity
    2. Entertainment
    3. Casual Gaming

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro is a device that matches my needs as a digital content creator and a full-time marketing professional.

Productivity

Under the hood of the roles that I play is the usual scenario of multiple tabs on Google Chrome, paired with communication apps such as Zoom, Telegram and MS Teams. On top of it all, I also work on Microsoft Office programs (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) and edit on Photoshop.

The 12th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-12700H processor paired with the 16GB LPDDR5 RAM is a great combination from my previous 8GB RAM, giving me more loading freedom to juggle around through apps without any hiccups. Starting up the laptop is easy and we didn’t experience any lags.

I also liked the  FHD Camera which allows me to interact in video calls far better than usual laptops. The device also has noise-canceling technology using dual microphones which means no annoying feedback when using Zoom via speakers.

The best part is, this laptop weighs only 1.39kg and has a thin profile body in premium silver metal. Its design isn’t loud so it’s perfect for those who prefer a sleek, minimalist look.

I find that the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro is perfect for my job and also provides great entertainment and a casual gaming experience.

Entertainment

Speaking of Entertainment, I am very particular when it comes to the display and speakers. So I’m glad my Lenovo Slim 7i Pro provides crisp and clear visuals with a high resolution 2.8K OLED Display with HDR & 90Hz High Refresh Rate. Maximizing the GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card embedded for accessing applications such as games, editing programs, and videos.

The combination of the Panda Glass for added protection on the OLED Panel gives it fluidity similar to high-end TVs or even perhaps the same as the smartphone you use right now.

Coming from an IPS laptop user, the difference is miles away, everything is just more colorful, and brighter, while blacks are darker so you really feel now the edge of having a premium laptop.

Sound-wise the Yoga Slim 7i Pro has two down-firing speakers that are Dolby Atmos tuned. It’s clear and decent enough for personal use, and audible enough to hear the high tones such as voices and lyrics. Compared to my previous laptops, these aren’t speakers that sound like mice squeaking.

Casual Gaming

When plugged in, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro can go into Extreme power mode *shows Lenovo Vantage Tool* to maximize the performance of the device, especially during gaming.

When on the go, I can now play Genshin Impact as the device can handle most settings for this game in a medium-high frame rate. Remember this utilizes the 2.8k resolution so you are still getting more-detailed info compared to usual laptops. Of course, given the specifications, even other casual games from Steam or even Valorant won’t be a concern as well.

The GeForce  RTX 2050 is indeed the hero in this portion that lets you have a gaming experience from a slim profile laptop like this.

Of course, while plugged in, the laptop’s 61Whr battery can be fast charged to full to around an hour and a half using the 100W charger. But last us around an average of 4 hours in no power saving mode. You can still stretch that through the Lenovo Vantage app and enable intelligent cooling or battery saving to manage your usage.

Warranty

Legion Premium Care

What makes this laptop also nice is that it’s included 3 Year Lenovo Premium Care warranty with on-site support and 3 Year of Accidental Damage Protection. Others just provide,2 years of global warranty, but this is the next step of care with another year added and even on-site meaning they can visit your home for repairs.

Conclusion

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro, particularly this configuration with the OLED display and RTX 2050 is priced at Php89,995. Even as a first-time Lenovo user, we actually felt the difference between the Yoga Slim 7i Pro versus other premium laptops due to its tiny details and improvements. It’s snappy, light, and surprisingly entertaining while doing either work, entertainment, or casual gaming. So we think for its price point, it’s worth the investment if you are in need of a serious laptop that can handle your multi-faceted life.
