LG Launches the new L series III Phones

-

LG Philippines recently launched their entry level to mid tier phone offerings. The new L Series III Phones features the exclusive LG Knock Code that lets you have your personalized access to certain apps or even unlocking your phone through a sequence of knock on the phone’s screen. Plus they also feature the Guest Mode where you can set a different style for your friends who will use the phone, good for letting your secret apps definitely hidden *evil laugh*.

The three phones under the L series III are the L40, L70 and L80 where all are different in screen sizes and target market. What’s good about the phones are they are all running in Android Kitkat 4.4 already, so you can expect a good performance despite the underated Qualcomm Snapdragon S200 Dual core 1.2Ghz processor inside the phones.

The L40 is an entry level phone for Php4,790 where its an 3.5 inch smartphone which is perfect for students and entry level users who whats a budget smartphone.

Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual Core processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB Internal Sorage, though the camera is for selfie novice as it’s only VGA on the front and 3.15mp at the back.

The LG L70 is an 4.5″ smartphone for Php8,490 with similar texture to the LG G2 Mini which feels premium and nice to hold. Still powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual core processor, 1GB ram and 4GB internal storage. Upgraded camera to 5MP rear and VGA front, its a good phone for those who prefers an international brand with adequate screen size.

Last is the LG L80 where it’s the one on the left as shown in the Photo. Interesting enough that it exactly looks like the Nexus 5 on the shape and size, the design feels premium and good to hold as well. With 5″ IPS display it’s a good phone for people who needs a standard phone size and good appearance. Still a 5mp rear and VGA front camera, it may not wow any tech savy persons but we are impressed of the build quality when we we’re able to test it. It will be available in the market by May with a price to be announced.

Our first impressions of the new L III series is a mixture of both good and bad. Being the capital of selfie in the world, we think the VGA cameras should justified to at least 1.2mp, but its good that all units are Dual Sim 3G enabled which is a must especially for us in the Philippines as a prepaid dominated country. But in observing LG over the past months they are fast in providing the latest Android and exclusive feature updates which is a good sign for as compared to international brands that is until now stuck to Android 4.2.2.
