With all the flagship phones showing up in the market including new brands from Chinese manufacturers, Philippines is slowly getting the spotlight it deserves for more competition. LG Philippines just launched the LG G3 which is their latest flagship smartphone, LG made the competition standards more challenging by redefining its internal methodology in utilizing “Smart”.
Continuing their success with the LG G2 last year, this year LG delivers the G3 with the slogan “Simple is the new Smart”. Primarily the G3 is now a 5.5 with a gorgeous IPS 2560 x 1440 display, currently one of the few smartphones with this kind of display available and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. The body is now covered with a layer of metalic coating that makes it premium, a lot better than the fake plastic chrome sides of the Galaxy S5 in our opinion.

LG made some statements in the camera battle by introducing their Laser auto focus feature which is the first in a smartphone. True enough in our experience, the G3 does promise laser quick focusing to quickly shoot in a touch of the screen. Plus they made the UI now more simple by using simple flat graphics that enforces more on user concentric features rather than display concentric designs.
Despite the larger footprint cause of its 5.5″ display compared to the 5.2″ before, LG manage to make it almost the same size and even bigger in battery capacity which is now 3000mAh. Though despite all the improvements, our main concern are the performance of the 2560 x 1440 display is limited due to few apps are available to maximize the screen and the performance is a bit sacrificed since the display again is dragging down the performance.
Also making appearance in the event was the LG G watch which is their Google smartwatch, though the display units we’re only limited in function, LG hinted out that their version of the wearable technology will be soon available as well.
