Teased last month, the LG Velvet will be a replacement for the brand’s long-running G series. This new series comes with a redesigned exterior alongside with 5G capabilities and triple cameras.
The LG Velvet comes with a 6.8-inch POLED display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio that leads to a resolution of 2460 x 1080. A tiny notch breaks the screen at the top to house its 16MP f/1.9 front-facing camera.
The smartphone has been redesigned to be distinct and have a “tactile” elegance. The camera module receives a bit of attention as well having a raindrop design that “evoke images of falling raindrops.” At the top of the camera module is its 48MP f/1.8 main camera while the succeeding smaller sensor are its 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor.
Inside the new chassis is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It gets its juice from a 4,300mAh battery charged with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ via its USB Type-C port.
