Traffic in the metro is a daily grind. Aside from the congested highways and trains, ride-sharing apps like Grab and Uber makes life easier for the daily commuter. Local startup, U-HOP, aims to further improve on the ride-sharing app here in the Philippines.

Initially founded back in 2015, U-HOP borrows Uber’s Uberpool option. Instead of 4-seaters, however, U-HOP uses shuttles, which can seat up to 12 passengers per trip. Their system chooses which passengers will be picked up by a shuttle for a more streamlined trip to your workplace or to your home. The trip usually costs around PhP 99 for all passengers, which is a lot more affordable compared to Uberpool.

This year, however, the startup is expanding their operations to enable passengers to book single cars for a trip. Interested drivers can sign up on their website as the first 1,000 drivers will get 100% of the profit for the next 6 months. You can check out their website or Facebook page for more information. U-HOP is available on both iOS and Android devices.
