The anime-themed Japanese riichi mahjong game Mahjong Soul has launched its limited collaboration event, “The Night of Legends”, with the well-known Japanese manga, Akagi: The Genius Who Descended into the Darkness. The collaboration event brings lots of elements from Akagi: The Genius Who Descended into the Darkness to the Mahjong Soul world. New Jyanshis, new decorations, new match modes, new outfits and rewards await.

The crossover event starts on October 27th and ends on November 16th at 1:59 p.m. (UTC-7). The first new game modes, “Battle of Clairvoyance”, bringing the Akagi’s featured match mode into Mahjong Soul, and letting players experience the thrill and excitement as the original. The second mode is “Battle of Darkness”, featuring Yami-Mahjong Fighter：Mamiya, which is being serialized by Nobuyuki Fukumoto and is available for a limited time.
Mahjong Soul and Akagi also produce a brand new scenario. Players can enjoy the plot in Mahjong Soul Cinema and get various rewards in Department Store. Two popular characters, Shigeru Akagi and Iwao Washizu in Akagi: The Genius Who Descended into the Darkness will also come to the stage.
Players can start the “Battle of Clairvoyance” in Empire Hotel with the classic Washizu Mahjong rules in the Akagi series. In each type of tile, three out of the four will be transparent. With extra information unveiled, players need to come up with multiple strategies to triumph over other opponents.
At another arena, Mahjong Salon, the “Battle of Darkness” mode can be found. With the Yami Mahjong rule added to the match, players can choose to pay a certain amount of points to conceal their tile or reveal the opponent’s tile, spicing up the table competition.
Shigeru Akagi, a young mahjong genius, with his bravery and determination, defeats those experienced Jyanshis again and again. However, Iwao Washizu, the biggest Nemesis of Shigeru, with great wealth and good luck, also joins the Mahjong Soul to continue his confrontation with Shigeru. Additionally, players can not only have the chance to obtain the two Jyanshis but also get their unique outfits with the classical elements from the original work delivering the characters’ personalities and charm in the game. In the new patch, Special AKAGI collaborated decorations are also available, creating a vibe of “the Night of Legends” for players.
