Maya is expanding their ecosystem with the new Maya Black Credit Card and Maya Black Preferred. Both are the result of their digital infrastructure – from banking and payments to lending and rewards – to deliver a data-driven credit experience while creating shared value for merchants.
The Maya Black Credit Card is their latest innovation to democratize access to premium financial tools. Since its pilot rollout in May 2025, it has reached more than 40,000 cardholders that indicates strong demand ahead of its full nationwide launch. It offers secured and unsecured credit lines, fast digital approval, instant virtual issuance, and full in-app control.
Using the Black Credit Card, you can earn Maya Miles with every transaction which are tracked real time. You’ll be able to soon use them to pay directly at select Maya Black Preferred merchants or convert them into travel rewards such as Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles.
Several features will be rolled out in the coming months:
Maya is the first and currently only digital bank in the Philippines to offer credit cards. Maya Black builds on their momentum of its earlier co-branded credit card program with both offerings issuing more than 230,000 cards since August 2024, many of which are first-time cardholders.
Complementing the card is Maya Black Preferred, a new rewards program that connects Maya’s credit platform to its acquiring network. With more than 600 Maya Black Preferred merchants nationwide, the program allows Maya Black cardholders to earn up to 10x Maya Miles when shopping with participating businesses.
The program also creates direct stake in the credit experience for merchants, which drives customer loyalty, boost spending, and deepen engagement. Maya plans to expand this synergy by using behavioral insights from its tools – Maya Checkout, Maya POS, and Maya Business Manager – to extend tailored credit solutions to MSMEs.
“We’re not just launching a credit card—we’re activating the full power of Maya’s ecosystem,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder. “With innovations like the Maya Black Preferred partner program, we will not only expand access to credit but also create even greater value for consumers and businesses alike.”
