The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ has officially been announced as their next generation flagship mobile chipset. It offers increased clock speeds and is designed to accelerate generative AI processing, broader support for large language models, and other performance enhancements.

The Dimensity 9300+ will use an All-Big-Core design with 3rd generation TSMC process, with one Arm Cortex-X4 core running at up to 3.4GHz complemented by three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores.
AI processing is implemented this generation thanks to MediaTek’s new generative AI engine, the NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration technology. Its APU 790 AI engine allows the chip to support large language models with 1B, 7B, and 13B parameters, which can be scaled up to 33B. These models can run seven billion parameters at 22 tokens per second which they claim to be more than twice the rate of competitive mass market solutions.
MediaTek is integrating a 2nd generation hardware raytracing engine on the Dimensity 9300+ with an Arm Immortalis-G720 GPU. It promises faster ray tracing experiences at 60fps with console-grade global illumination effects. Power efficiency is further helped along by the MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology, which boosts battery life and keep devices cooler.
They also implement the HyperEngine’s new Network Observation System to improve WiFi/Cellular dual-network concurrency and take advantage of precise network prediction technology. When enable, they say the it can offer up to 10% power savings and up to 25% in cellular data savings.
It will be using a 5G R16 Model designed with AI situational awareness for faster and more reliable connectivity. This model will support 4CC-CA Sub-6GHz with up to 7Gbps downlink.
As for imaging, the Imagiq 990 image signal processor offers 18-bit RAW processing for better photos and videos even in low-light environments. Its built-in AI Semantic Analysis Video Engine to support AI videography features such as 16 scene segmentation with real-time video capture to reduce noise, increase brightness and enhance colors.
Smartphones that come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ will come later this year. One of the earliest to launch will by the vivo X100s and X100s Pro, which will arrive in China on May 13.
