MediaTek has launched its new entry in the flagship space, the Dimensity 9400e. Built on TSMC’s 3rd Generation 4nm process, it allows for faster processing speeds and better energy efficiency.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400e contains four Cortex-X4 super cores running at up to 3.4GHz and four Cortex-A720 big cores at 2.0GHz. Complementing its CPUs is a 12-core Immortalis G720 GPU for rendering, and promises improved mobile ray tracing and console-level global illumination.
With the MediaTek Hyper Engine Technology, the Dimensity 9400e promises a smooth, long-lasting, and responsive gaming experience. Adaptive Gaming Technology (MAGT 2.0) allows for real-time performance scheduling between the chipset and gaming application for improved framerate stability and lower power consumption. Additionally, its MediaTek Frame Rate Converter (MFRC 2.0+) can reduce power consumption by up to 40% when enabled.
For generative AI, its MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK enhances inference decoding technology (SpD+), accelerates computational efficiency of large language models, and supports global mainstream large language models and small language models. This enables on-device operation of DeepSeek-R1-Distill (Qwen1.5B/Llama7B/Llama8B) models, as well as Gemino Nano with Multimodality, LlaVa-1.5 7B, and more.
As for imaging, it is equipped with an 18-bit RAW ISP with support for AI semantic segmenation video engines for 16-layer image semantic segmentation. It also supports high-dynamic noise reduction for recording s with three microphones. Leveraging its video and audio technologies promises professional-grade video for smartphone photography.
