MediaTek has launched the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. The chip is set as their most advanced mobile platform yet as it promises a new standard for on-device AI, mobile gaming, and power efficiency for the next generation of flagship smartphones.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 will come with a 3rd generation All Big Core CPU design – a 4.21GHz ultra core, three premium cores, and four performance cores. They claim that this delivers up to 29% higher single-core and 16% higher multi-core performance compared from last year. Its ultra core achieves up to 55% lower power consumption at peak to give users longer battery life.

It is one of the first chips to support 4-channel UFS 4.1 storage, which doubles the read and write speeds and accelerates large AI model loading by 40%. Its 2nd generation Dimensity scheduler translates processing power into smoother responsiveness and sustained efficiency even under heavy workloads.

Complementing its All Big Core CPU design is the Arm G1-Ultra GPU, which provides up to 33% higher peak performance and 42% improved power efficiency. It also doubles frame rate interpolation up to 120fps. The company has collaborated with studios, along with support for MegaLights in Unreal Engine 5.6 and Nanite in Unreal Engine 5.5 for better graphics rendering.

As for AI, it integrates a 9th generation MediaTek NPU 990 with Generative AI Engine 2.0 to double its compute power. They also introduced BitNet 1-bit large model processing to reduce power consumption by up to 25%. They say that the NPU slashes power consumption by more than 40% on always-on small models while users benefit from 100% faster 3 billion parameter LLM output. 128 token long text processing, and 4K image generation.

The MediaTek Imagiq 1190 on the chip will support RAW-domain pre-processing, up to 200MP capture, NPU-assisted focusing, and 4K60fps portrait video. Its connectivity includes MiraVision adaptive display, AI-driven Bluetooth call enhancement, WiFi fast transfer, and multi-network intelligence for calls and data.

Thanks to AI, it is able to deliver up to 10% lower power in 5G and 20% lower in WiFi scenarios, while 5CC carrier aggregation boosts bandwidth by 15%. AI positioning and network selection technologies offer 20% higher accuracy and 50% lower network latency lag compared to its competitor.

The first flagship smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 are expected to arrive in the 4th quarter of 2025.
