It’s the best iteration of the Microsoft Surface Book. With the divide between mobile and desktop becoming smaller and smaller every year, Microsoft was able to put in serious hardware within a small, compact body.
The 13.5-inch variant of the Surface Book 2comes with a 3000 x 2000 display and up to 1TB SSD. Its compute power comes from a Kaby Lake-based i5-7300U with 8GB of RAM that can be upgraded to a Coffee Lake i7-8650U with 16GB of RAM as well as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB.
Meanwhile, the 15-inch variant in its default configuration comes with a Coffee Lake i7-8650U with 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM. You can also upgrade the internal drive up to 1TB SSD.
The two models share Windows Hello Login, Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.1 Type-A, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C, Surface connect, a backlit keyboard with 1.5mm travel, a headphone jack and an SD card slot. Both models will also come with a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera.
The base 13-inch model will start at USD 1,499 while the bigger 15-inch variant is prived at USD 2,499.
