Mineski teams up with Globe, OPPO, and Riot Games for esports tourneys this 2021

-

Mineski is teaming up with Globe and OPPO to deliver a string of tournaments and activities under its exclusive partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia. All three entities seek to build and sustain the momentum of the growing esports and gaming industry in the Philippines through Riot’s most played titles.

Mineski will be operating the official national tournaments through the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) co-presented by Globe while OPPO serves as their official phone company for gaming. These tourneys will qualify the best teams that will represent the country in the Southeast Asian tournaments and the world championship.

They currently have official licenses to hold esports tournaments for Riot Games’ Valorant and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Tournaments for both games will be held throughout the year and will feature a format that would allow the best teams to rise and compete with others.

Tournaments that will feature League of Legends: Wild Rift will adopt a point system. This will govern the total cash prize of PhP 10 Million and ensures that the best performing teams will receive the proper prize. The points system will also determine how teams can advance into the playoffs.

Both gamers and spectators can look forward to the pre-season Wild Rift Icon series on March 20 – 21, 2021. The first pre-season tournament in the Philippines for the MOBA promises an exciting series of matches, which will pit eight professional esports teams including Globe Telecom’s team, Liyab.

Updates for the league’s registrations and broadcasts will be posted on the official PPGL Facebook Page. Local esports organizations who are interested in applying as a partner to its national plans for Wild Rift SEA Icon series and VALORANT Challengers Tour can reach out to Mineski at [email protected].
