As both versions for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, and Playstation 4 are mostly the same, here’s the differences and similarities for each version:

Note that the Playstation version of the game has an exclusive skin, the Oni Operator Pack, usable in both CODMW2 2022 multiplayer and Warzone 2.
Cross-Gen allows users of last-gen consoles to play the game on current-gen consoles and vice-versa. So if you purchase one copy of Modern Warfare 2 2022 for your Xbox One or PS4, you can play them on an Xbox Series X|S or PS5. This is great if you plan to upgrade or take advantage of newer systems later without having to buy another copy and lose your progress.

Which one should you choose? The Battle.net version or the Steam one? It depends. In my case, the Steam version of the game is cheaper than buying it from Battle.net. Which means that cost should also come into consideration. Also, if you find that the price is already the same in your country for both platforms, Battle.net is the better choice considering that you don’t need to fiddle with additional accounts and you can readily jump into Warzone 2.0.
