In Modern Warfare 2 (CODMW2 2022), the eighth mission that players get to experience is called “Hardpoint”. Get to know how to navigate this mission, walkthrough, and useful tips using this guide.
Modern Warfare 2 Hardpoint Mission Walkthrough
- Turn on thermals and aim at the gas station. Look at south of the station and follow the ground team’s vehicle.
- After the encounter, the ground team will use the building west of the gas station to defend. Fire at the attackers and clear the area.
- Zoom out and look for the RPGs that are firing at the team from the rooftops. Eliminate them and continue defending the team by firing at the enemies coming from the east.
- Be prepared to take down vehicles coming from the north and east. Aim your sights down at the soccer field to the southwest and destroy the mortar teams.
- Wait for the messages that warn you about anti-aircraft team. Aim at where the missiles originate and hit them. Use Flares to defend yourself from the missiles.
- Look around the area, specifically at the roads as enemies will start streaming in during this time. Also, watch out for enemy helicopters and shoot them down the moment they stop to land infantry.
- Protect the extraction zone by firing at the enemies coming in from the north. Eliminate anti-air units until the ground team gets out safely.
Mission Reward
Completing Hardpoint rewards you with a “Double Weapon XP Token” that you can use in both co-op and multiplayer.

Listen To The Prompts & Follow
During this mission, you’ll hear a lot of chatter from the ground team. Follow them as they warn you about the coming RPG teams and mortar teams. Also, listen to directions as they can be extremely helpful in rooting out threats and in helping the team survive until extraction.
Go Wild & Shoot At Enemies
Unlike the prior mission, you can go wild in this one and fire freely. Enemies are also numerous here so expect a lot of explosions and bodies flailing around. Note that enemies that survive are going to climb up to the structure where the ground team is defending. As much as you can, shoot at enemies near the building and try to keep your fire away from the team to prevent friendly fire.
Look Out For Anti-Air
During the latter half of this mission, enemies with anti-air weapons come out into the battlefield. You can listen to comms for their location but you can also figure out where they are using their missile trails. Prioritize taking them down as they can be pretty annoying.
