One of their competitors showed off their DFHD monitor in Computex 2018. MSI, not one to be left behind, showcased their take on the 32:9 monitor craze with the Optix MAG491C.
The MSI Optix MAG491C comes with a 49-inch panel with an aspect ratio of 32:9, which results to a total resolution of 3840 x 1080 (DFHD). Aside from the super wide screen, the MAG491C also comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time.
As for color reproduction, the monitor is rated at HDR 400 with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and is advertised to achieve 400 cd/m2 of brightness. It will also support FreeSync as well as three HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort.
No price or availability date yet has been posted for the MSI Optix MAG491C but we expect it to hit the market before the year ends.
