AI is the hot topic last year for notebooks and that seems to be continuing this year. MSI’s new range of laptops are now AI-powered thanks to the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) built on the Intel Core Ultra processors.
MSI’s 2024 notebooks will come with the 14th Generation Intel Core Ultra and Core HX processors for improved performance. The former’s Low Power Efficient cores ensure minimal power for routine tasks to prolong battery life plus they also offer double the graphical performance per watt compared to previous generations.
On the other hand, the 14th Generation Intel Core HX processors are made for heavy workloads. They can reach up to 5.8GHz, which makes them ideal for gaming or even professional content creation work.
Aside from these new processors, MSI is fully committed in integrating AI onto their notebooks. Not only do the NPU on their Intel 14th Generation Core Ultra processors help, but their NVIIDA GeForce RTX 40 series improve AI gaming features like DLSS 3 and their AI Tensor Cores boost gaming, creation, and everyday productivity.
The Titan, Raider, and Stealth are getting 18-inch variants this generation. The Titan 18 HX remains the brand’s flagship gaming notebook packing four memory expansion slots of up to 128GB, three M.2 SSD slots for up to 12TB of NVMe storage, a seamless RGB haptic touchpad, and a Cherry Switch Mechanical keyboard. Just below the Titan is the Raider 18HX. It sports MSI’s matrix light bar and a new 3D stand to optimize its cooling performance. Both will come with a 14th Generation Intel Core i9 processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTx 40 series graphics.
Meanwhile, the Stealth 18 AI Studio is designed for heavy creators in mind. It comes with an 18-inch 4K 120Hz mini-LED display with support for DisplayHDR 1000 and a wide color gamut. Like the Titan, its chassis is made out of magnesium-aluminum alloy to make it lighter when being carried around.
Leading the charge for MSI’s upper midrange notebooks is the Vector 17 HX, which comes with MSI Overboost technology that ups its TDP to 250W for better overall performance. The Crosshair HX and Pulse AI series now come with a total of 6 exhaust and 2 intake ports for optimal thermal performance.
The Crosshair and Pulse AI range come with a 24-zone RGB keyboard backlight for illumination. The former has a futuristic spacecraft pattern while the latter has what MSI calls an “electromagnetic pulse pattern” that reflects the future of laptop design.
For those who want something more mainstream, the Sword HX, Cyborg, and Thin 15 notebooks will come with Intel Core Ultra processors plus unique designs. The Sword range will have a Space Gray colorway with PCR materials plus a 24-zone RGB backlit keyboard.
The Thin 15 will come in a cosmos gray color with a sleek and portable design and a translucent WASD blue backlit keyboard. Meanwhile, the Cyborg 14 – one of the most affordable in the range – aims to provide for those who need style and functionality.
MSI has also refreshed Creator lineup with the Creator Z17 HX Studio, Creator 16 AI Studio, Creator M14, and Creator M16 HX. All notebooks under this range come with a vapor chamber cooler design to control thermals. The new Creator 16 AI Studi comes with a 16:10 OLED display while still weighing less than 2kg.
Official pricing and availability for MSI’s new range of 2024 notebooks are yet to be announced. Stay tuned.
