In the universe of Warhammer 40,000, the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, Marneus Calgar, is often flanked by the best and the brightest his company has to offer. These Space Marines of higher caliber are called the “Victrix Guard” or officially as the “Victrix Honour Guard”. We previously had a measly two of these guards inside a box with Marneus Calgar but with the recent announcement, they now have their own box. They’re now three in a box. Is this a great deal? How much would it cost? When is this kit going to be released? Read on to know more!
This is part of an official announcement that includes the unveiling of a new Marneus Calgar model and a new Cato Sicarius model.
Plastic’s on an all-time high again as the kit now features only three highly-customizable models. From helmets, greaves, and weapons, the kits has them all to cater to the most veteran of veterans in the Ultramarines Chapter. The kit also contains one of the largest banners in Warhammer (based on their official article) for a Chapter Ancient (third one this time?) included in the kit.
Aside from the highly decorated bodies of the Primaris Space Marines inside the kit, there will be a lot of plastic left, making this kit ripe for kitbashing. This makes the kit an excellent choice for builders especially thos looking to boost their Ultramarine army or similar factions. It’s very likely that you’ll have good use for those decorated Power Axes, Power Swords, and intricately designed Bolters.
Looking at similar models like the Inner Circle Companions and the Blade Guard Veterans we can say that the price of the new Victrix Guard kit is around US$60 or £37. Both of the kits used as references have three models inside them and also have a good number of spare plastics for customization. Similar kits with three models such as Aggressors and Inceptors also have the same price tag.
While it was not announced officially, we can deduce from previous releases that the arrival of the new Victrix Guard kits would be around November to December. Based on recent releases of Space Marine hero models, pre-orders for them started two months after their announcements.
