Finally, after months of waiting, we finally get to see the highly-anticipated new sculpts for the Imperial Guard. Unfortunately, Imperial Guard (or officially Astra Militarum) here stands for Cadians only. Anyhow, with the reveal comes the announcement of a new box set similar to the release of the Black Templars, Chaos Knights, and the Leagues of Votann. Let’s take a look at the new WH40K Cadia Stands box set!
The new Astra Militarum box set sports all new models in it. Despite being given an additional upgrade sprue a few months back, the new Cadian Shock Troopers now sport updated sculpts and proportional body parts. Included in this update are also new sculpts for the Sentinel and the Command Squad. A new comer in the box are the Field Ordnance Batteries of which we see two. It is yet unknown if we can field the Ordnances in threes or in twos but it is known that you can build them with three possible loadouts.
The set needs a bit more Kasrkins, right? Or probably the newly announced Attilan Rough Riders? Also, why not bring in a new Rogal Dorn Battle Tank and the new Lord Solar while you’re at it?
The cover of the included Astra Militarum Codex was not revealed during the stream. Perhaps a new model is on the cover? Anyhow, we’ll just have to wait for its official unveiling in probably the next couple of weeks.
The cover of the new Astra Militarum Codex has been revealed to be the new Lord Solar Leontus. This new iconic HQ will stand together with the Cadians as they make their way into most battles in the galaxy that knows only war.
Unfortunately, we can’t have it all as the new models for the new Commissar and Ursula Creed are not included in the Cadia Stands army box set.
From a points perspective and while considering that we do get all the models in this, is the new Cadia Stands box set worth it and will you buy it? Vote now!
You can now finally pre-order for the new Cadia Stands online. You can do so either with the official Games Workshop site or via your local hobby store. Based on the official web store, the Cadia Stands Imperial Guard Box set is set to arrive on the 25th of November, Friday.
As predicted, the Cadia Stands Army Box set is priced similar to the Leagues of Votann box set when it launched. The new Imperial Guard set has a price tag of £120 / US$200. As always, you can get it for far less if you order via your FLGS.
