With the year coming to a close, we’ve all had our fair share of the bang for the buck WH40K Battleforce Box sets (hopefully!) However, it looks like 2023 is going to start with another batch of new boxes. This time, the four new Warhammer 40,000 battleforce boxes are all Space Marines. Are they worth it? When is the release date? Read on to know more.
As of the writing of this article, there are only four boxes new boxes that are set to arrive this coming 2023. Add the two Space Marine boxes this December and we have a total of six Space Marine boxes.
All prices below are from the official Games Workshop e-store. Note that you can get discounts if you buy the boxes from specific stores in your area. Make sure to ask around to at least get a bit of savings when buying these sets.

The Iron Hands battleforce box set looks like a pretty good deal considering that you do get two Redemptor Dreadnoughts, a must-have if you are playing or collecting Space Marines. If you are not planning on using this box for Iron Hands, with a bit of creativity and elbow grease, Iron Father Feirros can be converted into another Primaris Techmarine.

The Salamanders Battleforce box set is pretty heavy on infantry. It comes with two squads of Intercessors, the base gun line of any Space Marine Army. Bundled in the package is Adrax Agatone as the hero character and accompanying him are squads of Aggressors and Eradicators. All in all, a pretty good box even if you are not collecting Salamanders.

The White Scars Battleforce box set contains a lot of wheels, like almost all of them. Unfortunately, the hero character in the box, Kor’sarro Khan, must take the walk of shame to follow his peers. For units, the box contains two squads of Primaris Outriders, two Invader ATVs, and a single Primaris Chaplain on Bike.
Unlike the other boxes in which you can use the most units for other armies, I think this box is solely for those looking to start a White Scars army. If you’re already into Space Marines, you’re likely to already have one or two Primaris Outriders from the starter boxes so this somewhat lessens the reasons of getting this box.

If you plan to start an Ultramarine army, this may be the best way to do so as you get two named faction-exclusive characters for this battleforce box set. Chapter Master Marneus Calgar, together with his two Victrix Honour Guards, is joined by Tigurius in this set. Accompanying the two great heroes are squads of Bladeguard Veterans, Hellblasters, and Intercessors.
Loading ...No official price has been announced as of the reveal. However, we can deduce it the new Space Marine Battleforce boxes to have the same price as the ones that released this December. Both the Imperial Fists and the Raven Guard boxes have a suggested retail price of US$210 or £130.
If you are planning on getting a new Space Marine army this year, these battleforce boxes may be the best possible way to do so. Not just because of value but also because they include heroes and named characters in them.
