Triple cameras are fast becoming standard in most smartphones. HMD Global, however, has gone one step further with five rear cameras with the Nokia 9 PureView.
As the world’s first smartphone with a five-camera setup at the rear courtesy of ZEISS, the Nokia 9 PureView’s two color sensors and three monochromatic sensors work together in order to preserve unmatched detail and sharpness.
The five cameras can collect up to 10-times the amount of light compared to a single color sensor of the same type. Every image captured by the smartphone is automatically processed in HDR with up to 12.4 stops of dynamic range and a full scene 12MP depth map.
The front-facing camera of the Nokia 9 PureView is a bit less impressive than its rear counterpart. Though the 20MP selfie camera is still HDR-capable.
Aside from its five-camera setup, the Nokia 9 PureView comes with impressive specifications that’s expected from a flagship smartphone. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Nokia still hasn’t jumped on board the notch or the punch-hole bandwagon yet. This means that the Nokia 9 PureView has a more traditional 18:9 P-OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 measuring at 5.99-inches with 2880 x 1440 resolution.
Powering the whole smartphone is a 3,320mAh battery charged by a USB Type-C connection at the bottom.
