Nokia launches its 2018 range of smartphones

Nokia has just launched their range of smartphones for 2018. Composed of four smartphones; the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 1, and Nokia 8110 4G, Nokia’s current series of smartphones encompasses everything from the high-end, entry-level, and even a throwback to older smartphones.

Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 Plus uses Zeiss optics for both of its rear and front cameras. The dual rear camera is composed of a 12MP + 13MP cameras while the selfies can be taken with a single 16MP front-facing camera.

Its display is a 6.0-inch FullHD+ 18:9 screen with Corning Gorilla Glass that’s capable of reaching up to 500 nits of brightness. Inside the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 paired with 4GB of RAM and is running on Android 8.0 Oreo. Here are its complete specs:

Nokia 6 (2018)

Designed to take on the mid-range market, the 2018 version of the Nokia 6 comes with a 16MP rear camera powered by Zeiss optics. At the front is an 8MP f/2.0 camera selfie shooter. The display is a traditional 5.5-inch 16:9 screen at 1920 x 1080. Powering the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with 4GB of RAM running on Android 8.0.

Nokia 1

The first smartphone to arrive in the Philippines with Android Go, the Nokia 1 aims to dominate the entry-level market with its low price and smooth performance. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737M SoC with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable via a microSD slot.

Imaging is courtesy of a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing shooter. The Nokia 1 is powered by a removable 2,150mAh battery.

Nokia 8110 4G

Unveiled last February 2018, this is the revival of one of the most classic Nokia phones back in the day. Also known as the “Banana Phone” or “Matrix Phone,” the Nokia 8110 4G retains its classic design with a few modern touches.

The Nokia 8110 4G comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 SoC, a 2MP rear camera, and a 1,500mAh battery that the company advertises that lasts up to 17 days of standby time. The display is a dainty 2.4-inch QVGA screen. The smartphone is, of course, compatible with 4G LTE.

The Nokia 7 Plus will drop on Nokia’s partner stores (Lazada, Argomall, authorized retailers) on April 27, 2018 and is also available via Home Credit for 0% interest for 9-months for PhP 21,990. The Nokia 6 and 8110 4G will drop sometime in May 2018. The Nokia 1, meanwhile, will be available for consumers on May 13, 2018 for PhP 21,990.
