NVIDIA’s next generation GPUs are finally here. Based on their own Ampere architecture with an 8nm lithography from Samsung, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series graphics cards promises the greatest possible gaming performance and new features to separate it from the rest.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series video cards are based on their Ampere architecture. They are promising up to twice the performance compared to previous generation video cards, which is a significant leap of computing power.
These GPUs will support the PCIe 4.0 standard and come with an 18-phase power supply allowing for better GPU performance and overclocking. NVIDIA is doubling down on their Ray Tracing Cores by introducing their 2nd Generation RT Cores, which have up to two times the throughput of previous generation cards. NVIDIA DLSS also receives a bump in performance thanks to Ampere’s 3rd Generation Tensor Cores, which allows AI-powered technologies and techniques to perform faster.
NVIDIA will be initially introducing three cards: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 this September while the RTX 3070 will arrive a month later. Of course, they will ship first in the brand’s Founders Edition cards, which has been improved to deliver a quieter experience compared to dual axial coolers while still being able to deliver nearly twice the cooling performance.
