It’s finally here. After two years of waiting, the successor for NVIDIA’s Pascal-based 1000-series cards have arrived. Built on NVIDIA’s Turing architecture, the brand’s new RTX 20-series GPUs promises up to 6 times better graphical performance over the brand’s previous architecture.

These new RTX GPUs now come with faster GDDR6 memory that delivers up to 600GB/s of bandwidth for the VRAM as well as NVIDIA’s new focus on real-time ray-tracing to deliver better graphics and lighting to games. AI-capabilities have also been thrown in to better render graphical effects.

NVIDIA has moved on from their single-fan design over the previous Founders Edition cards with the RTX 20-series Founders Edition cards having a dual 13-blade axial fans to deliver three times better airflow. Cooler thermals are also provided by a full-card vapor chamber to allow heat to spread over the maximum area possible.

At this time, NVIDIA has only formally announced three cards in their RTX lineup: the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, and RTX 2017. Both the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 are already up for pre-order via NVIDIA’s website. Both cards are expected to ship on September 20.

The RTX 2017, meanwhile, will be available in October. Add-in Board (AiB) partner cards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Gainward, EVGA, etc., will be available shortly after the release of the Founders Edition cards.
