The OnePlus 10 Pro is the first flagships to arrive from the brand this year. It is now available in China and has yet to have its global launch. It does have decent specifications on paper including a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a 120Hz 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen, and a plethora of cameras. It seems that the device, however, has taken a hit in its durability as it snapped in half in JerryRigEverything’s durability test.
The smartphone broke in half directly below its camera module and above the battery even though it had an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass rear. It seems that the low point of failure was caused with the alignment of the volume buttons, battery, and camera module which led to thinner supports in the area.
It is worth noting that JerryRigEverything’s testing methodology usually goes beyond the usual stresses that average users will ever subject on a smartphone. Despite its failure in the bend test, the OnePlus 10 Pro was able to endure other tests and was revealed to have gaskets even though it did not have any water resistance rating.
