OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 12 at a global stage. They are keeping it simple with this release opting for a direct hardware upgrade over the OnePlus 11 instead of integrating AI on the smartphone.
The OnePlus 12 will now come with the flagship-class Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X for global variants. Its screen is slightly bigger than before with a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED at 3168 x 1440, which will run at 120Hz and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The company has once again tapped Hasselblad for the 12’s cameras. Its 50MP f/1.6 main camera is powered by a Sony LYT-808 sensor and packs Dual Pixel PDAF, EIS, and OIS. It is backed by a 64MP f/2.4 telephoto that achieves 3x optical zoom and 6x digital zoom, and a 48MP f/2.2 Ultrawide with a Sony IMX581. At the front is a 32MP f/2.4 Sony IMX615 selfie camera.
The 12 comes with a slightly larger 5,400mAh battery with the same 100W SuperVOOC charging support. OnePlus does implement a 50W Wireless Charging this time around, which was a missed opportunity from its predecessor. The Alert Slider returns plus the smartphone is rated at IP65 for dust and water resistance.
