The OnePlus 13 series have officially made their way into the global market after the OnePlus 13 launched in China last November. The series is composed of the OnePlus 13 and the newly unveiled OnePlus 13R, both of which come with solid specifications on paper.
The OnePlus 13 takes the lead with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It packs a 6.82-inch 3168 x 1440 LTPO AMOLED quad-curved display running at 120Hz with a 32MP f/2.4 selfie shooter.
OnePlus is still partnered with Hasselblad to co-engineer the 13’s cameras. At the back are three cameras: a 50MP f/1.6 main camera, a 50MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens.
Its battery has been upgraded to 6,000mAh for a longer battery life. The device supports 100W SuperVOOC and 50W AirVOOC for charging and global units will run on OxygenOS 15.
The OnePlus 13R rests a tier below the 13 to make it more affordable, but it hasn’t lost much in terms of hardware. It now packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, and a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 2780 x 1264 LTPO OLED 120Hz screen.
Its cameras include a 50MP f/1.8 main lens, a 50MP f/2.0 telephoto with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and a 16MP f/2.4 front-facing shooter.
The 13R packs the same 6,000mAh battery as the flagship, but lowers down charging to 80W SuperVOOC. It will run on OxygenOS 15 out-of-the-box plus its chassis is rated for IP65 for dust and water resistance.
OnePlus is promising 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches. This is pretty good for the brand, but lacks behind Samsung which promises 5 years of OS updates.
The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R starts at USD 899 and USD 600, respectively. When directly converted, this puts the series at a starting price of PhP 52,000 and PhP 35,000, respectively.
While OnePlus hasn’t announced official pricing and availability yet in the Philippines, select retailers have started teasing pre-orders for the series.
More details about the OnePlus 13 series arrival in the Philippines soon. Stay tuned.
