The OPPO A78 4G has silently made its way onto the Philippines. It is a more affordable variant of the OPPO A78 5G earlier this year replacing the Dimensity 700 chip and 5G capabilities with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 in order to get to a lower price point.
OPPO has changed the display to a smaller but higher resolution 6.43-inch 2400 x 1080 screen running at 90Hz. Additional storage is also a welcome addition boosting up to 256GB over the 5G’s 128GB. Both smartphones come with a 5,000mAh battery but the 4G variant has support for the quicker 67W SuperVOOC charging.
Cameras remain the same as the OPPO A78 4G sports a 50MP f/1.8 main camera paired with a 2MP f/2.4 portrait sensor and an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing camera. It will also run ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13.
