After being launched in Malaysia earlier this year, the OPPO A78 5G has arrived in the Philippines. It is one of the brand’s most affordable 5G smartphones currently for under PhP 16,000.
One would think that the A78 5G is a direct upgrade from the OPPO A77 but this isn’t so. The company has made some cost-cutting measures to ensure affordable of the device while still sporting 5G. It now comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset from the A77’s Dimensity 810 but will come pre-installed with ColorOS 13.
Its design follows the Reno8 T except the vegan leather finish is now replaced with the OPPO Glow design. There are two cameras at the back – a 50MP f/1.8 main lens and a 2MP f/2.4 depth – and an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. It will have a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC charging.
