Following the launch of the Reno10 Series 5G in the Philippines, another midrange smartphone has officially arrived in the country – the OPPO A98 5G. It is positioned just below the mainline Reno series packing slightly cut-down specifications to fit in a more affordable package.
The OPPO A98 5G packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage with MicroSD card support. It has a 6.72-inch FullHD+ IPS display running at 120Hz protected by what they call Panda 1681 Secondary Tempered Glass.
As for cameras, the A98 5G has a 64MP f/1.7 main camera, a 2MP f/2.4 mono secondary, and a 2MP f/2.4 40x microscope lens much like the one found on the Reno8 T earlier this year. Selfies can be taken with a 32MP f/2.4 front-facing camera.
The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging, which promises a full charge in around 44 minutes.

The OPPO A98 5G is priced at PhP 18,999 in the Philippines. It will come bundled with a pair of TWS earbuds for free until September 21, 2023. You can now get it via OPPO’s official Shopee and Lazada stores, OPPO concept stores, and authorized retailers nationwide.
