After a couple of teases through their stars and advertisements, the OPPO F5 has finally arrived in the Philippines. Aside from the new name, OPPO has jumped on the 18:9 bandwagon with the F5 and they have separated themselves from the pack with their A.I. Beautification technology.
The most noticeable change of the OPPO F5 from its contemporaries is the 18:9 screen. The 6.0-inch screen has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 that allows you to see more with a taller screen. You’re also able to watch movies better with the wider screen.
OPPO has also armed the F5 with a brand new SoC from MediaTek, the MT6763T an octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM to bring you fast and consistent performance.
At the back is a 16MP f/1.8 camera with LED Flash as well as a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
What separates the OPPO F5 from other selfie smartphones is its 20MP front-facing camera. Aside from the high megapixel count, OPPO has supplemented the camera with what they call their A.I. Beautification technology. Essentially, they have taken all selfies from OPPO smartphones and gathered data from them. This allows the A.I to choose the best beautification settings for your face. It can even work on your friends’ faces if they are on the frame.

The OPPO F5 is priced at PhP 15,990 and can be pre-ordered from your favourite store up until the 3rd of November. Buyers that will pre-order OPPO’s latest smartphone will get a free OLike speaker.
