Set to launch this August, the OPPO F9 has already been teased via the official Facebook page of OPPO. Specifications, however, are still a bit hard to come by until now. The alleged specifications of the OPPO F9 has been leaked with OPPO’s new smartphone having largely the same internals as the OPPO F7.
Based on the leak, the OPPO F9 will still use the AI-enabled MediaTek Helio P60 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The F9, however, will now run an updated version of OPPO’s homebrewed OS, ColorOS 5.2.
The screen has been improved with the F9 being expected to have a 6.3-inch Tear Drop monitor display with a smaller notch compared to the F7. A smaller notch also enables the smartphone to have a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. The F9’s screen, however, will still rock a FullHD+ resolution.
As far as cameras go, the OPPO F9 is anticipated to have a 25MP f/2.0 front-facing camera with Hardware Sensor HDR and AI Beauty Technology. The rear, however, will have a 16MP + 2MP f/1.85 dual camera setup. We assume that the secondary 2MP camera will act as a depth sensor for better bokeh effects when using the rear camera.
The leak also points to the F9 having a 3,500mAh battery. On OPPO’s official Facebook post, the F9 will also have VOOC charging that can charge the smartphone for only 5 minutes to achieve up to 2 hours of talk time. The OPPO F9 is expected to come in Red Sunshine and Twilight colors. There are rumors that the OPPO F9 Pro will be the first smartphone to have a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. There’s nothing set in concrete, however, we’ll just need to wait until OPPO’s new F-series smartphones are announced within this month.
