OPPO Find X8 Pro to come with camera control button

OPPO executives have confirmed that the upcoming OPPO Find X8 Pro will launch in China on October 24, 2024, and will be packing a camera control-like button like those found in the iPhone 16 series.

OPPO Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu shared that they are implementing this camera button to effortless capture the beauty of life. You’ll only need to simply press the shutter to capture the beauty and leave the rest to the smartphone.

They also claim that the OPPO Find X8 will have a thin and light camera setup, which is a step away from their previous design philosophy on photography-focused flagships.

Product Manager Zhou Yibao says that the camera button will be a capacitive touch button that takes advantage of a linear vibration motor for feedback. The design of the shutter button was guided by 3 principles:

• The button needed to be easy to press and positioned for quick access in both portrait and landscape modes.
• Its primary function is to quickly launch the camera without any complex features.
• The button needed to integrate seamlessly with the phone’s design.
