The OPPO Find X8 Ultra has dropped over in China today as their first flagship smartphone for 2025. As a device atop the stack, the Find X8 Ultra comes plenty of performance under the hood such as a flagship-class chipset and improved cameras including two 50MP periscope telephoto lenses.
The Find X8 Ultra fits a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in its 8.78mm IP68/IP69 chassis complemented by up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Its battery has been upgraded to a 6,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 100W SuperVOOC and 50W AirVOOC.
OPPO has equipped the smartphone with a 6.82-inch 3168 x 1440 1 – 120Hz LTPO OLED display. It will run on Android 15 with ColorOS 15 on top.
They have also outfitted the device with two new buttons: a quick button at the left-hand side and a shortcut button at the other side. These can be customized to act as shortcut buttons or camera controls.
Cameras have always been the focus of OPPO on their flagships, and that doesn’t change with the Find X8 Ultra. Its main camera is a 50MP f/18 shooter powered by a Sony LYT900 sensor. Complementing it is a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens.
There are two periscope telephoto lenses on the Find X8 Ultra: a 50MP f/2.1 shooter with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP f/3.1 telephoto with 6x optical zoom.
Under the hood, photos are further improved thanks to the next-generation HyperTone Image Engine. OPPO says that they are using AI Tone mapping for depth and detail, and the ProXDR engine can now increase data richness by up to 4x.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is currently exclusive to China and starts at CNY 6,499 (PhP 51,000 converted). Going for the top-end 16GB/1TB variant will cost CNY 7,999 or around PhP 62,000.
