OPPO outs new 125W Flash Charge tech

-

OPPO has made official its new batch of charging tech for future devices. The fastest to date from the brand is its 125W Flash Charge for wired devices. Wireless charging also receive improvements as they announce their new 65W AirVOOC charging solution.

125W Flash Charge

The 125W Flash Charge is OPPO’s newest and fastest charging standard for wired charging. Flash Charge uses 20V and 6.25A connection and is promised to fill a 4,000mAh battery to 100% in just 20 minutes. If you’re really in a hurry, it can also fill the same battery capacity from 0% to 41% in 5 minutes.

Due to the higher maximum output, OPPO has designed a few safety measures on the 125W Flash Charge, which includes 10 more temperature sensors to monitor the charging status and overall safety while your device is charging.

Flash Charge is also backwards compatible to their existing charging standards such as SuperVOOC and VOOC Flash Charge as well as other standards such as USB 65W Power Delivery and 125W PPS.

65W AirVOOC

OPPO is also improving on the current wireless charging tech by introducing its 65W AirVOOC. Sporting a dual-coil design, 65W AirVOOC can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 30 minutes at full blast.

More electricity means more heat output. The new AirVOOC wireless flash charge employs a semiconductor cooler to adjust heat entry and exit to ensure that the device wouldn’t be hot to the touch once it’s done charging. OPPO’s testing puts the back of the smartphone 2°c lower compared to only using a fan to lower the heat.

In addition, the brand is using a five-fold safety protection measures as well as a foreign object detection function. Of course, 65W AirVOOC is also compatible with the current Qi Wireless Charging that exists on smartphones today.

Smaller Chargers

Aside from increasing charging capacity, OPPO is also introducing smaller and thinner chargers this generation. The smallest of which is the OPPO 50W mini SuperVOOC charge. With a thickness of only 1.05cm, this new charger fits in the smallest of pockets while still maintaining a relatively fast charging capability.

On the other hand, OPPO’s 110W mini flash charger retains a small profile while delivering fast charging than most chargers today. While similar to the size of an 18W charger, the brand’s mini flash charger is able to charge smartphones quicker compared to the usual range of chargers included in smartphone packages.

Although OPPO has announced plenty of charging tech today, they haven’t spoken what devices will take full advantage of these chargers. We expect that the upcoming OPPO Reno4 5G will come with one of these charging devices.
