We’ve been using the OPPO Reno 10Pro 5G for a couple of weeks already, this is part of OPPO’s 3-lineup smartphones under the series and particularly what we have is the upper-midrange variant one amounting to Php29,999.
For the price you get the following already
The OPPO Reno 10Pro 5G is an upper-midrange smartphone that is premium to hold and feel, similar how curved smartphones were produced back in 2019 but now more attainable. Even accent corners on the side and on the camera bump are metal that gives its confident feel.
We really like the Silvery Grey color with a matte finish at the back that produces different color / shine in every angle. Plus no problems with fingerprints including the camera lens as it’s treated with anti-smudge technology.
Our focus here will be more on photography, given the approach of OPPO to focus on quality with better optics using multiple-high megapixel cameras and using their AI to produce better background to subject separation. OPPO calls this their Portrait Engine, but we will be honest that we didn’t use any special filters featured as its not really in our profile to do so.
The Reno10 Pro 5G has a 50MP Main Camera using a Sony IMX709 Sensor paired with a 32MP Telephoto Lens and 8MP Ultra-Wide Lens
The camera is very simple with a quick and easy to understand interface similar to previous OPPO smartphones. Using the standard photo mode, here are some of our best shots to share both in day and night conditions.
Good news here is that even with subjects that are black, the sensor and AI doesn’t mistaken it as “Dark” as what other smartphones are struggling. Details are strong and captured well, plus with good high dynamic range as its easily detecting what are metallic objects to what are not.
On direct sunlight the Reno10 Pro 5G achieves a good ratio between exposure and controlling the high dynamic range. Here you can see the well focused Nissan Almera without compromising on the skyline above the hotel.
Another subject hard to capture is a moving object, on direct sunlight on a dark object we are glad that the Reno10 Pro captured this challenging shot with high level of details still captured on the dog’s fur.
Sunset is also a great situation where you will have a mix of artificial lighting and natural mixing, here the subject and background are well captured with just minor levels of noise already detected on the corners. But still on a upper-midrange smartphone, this on takes the cake as an awesome shot.
Food shots are no problem with proper color production and accurate level of AI for that craving look. We really like the authentic color, details and even touch of clarity that the OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G produces overall. Its life-like yet still producing a good level of bounce that is memorable.
Moving into portraits, we will just be sharing several samples that impressed us.
On a very sunny La Union, you can see well separated subject and background with level of details on clothes all retained. While this is very easy for other smartphones, the challenge here is the details on clothing, hair and even facial expression. We think OPPO was able to capture this and adding the right amount of portrait bokeh in the background for that right emphasis.
Indoor portrait is also good with a tad softer touch in the photos, But still overall details in the clothing, hair and facial features are retained. This is x3 portrait over a table shot, so we think it has the right components to be shareable.
Nighttime portrait with ample lighting produces are more sharp facial feature and has good separation of all features in the face, hair, and clothing. This was shot only once that produced very appreciative results.
Let’s not forget about selfies, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G uses a 32MP front camera that captures good detail of facial features without too much AI to modify your facial attributes. Even selfie portraits have good separation of background and produces very minimal shaking.
Overall the photo setup of the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is one of the smartphones we like with good contrast, high dynamic range and clarity that isn’t too artificial. Overall it answers the need of users who wants a camera that simply works, you’ll be definitely confident to use these set of cameras whether day or night.
The Reno 10 Pro 5G has a 6.7″ Curved Display with FHD+ resolution, translating to vivid and jumpy colored visuals that are a touch vivid versus mid-range smartphones. Thanks to this, details in applications like FB, YouTube or any other applications looks more immersive and premium.
The 120Hz Refresh Rate is good both for everyday use or casual gaming, but nothing to the point it’s near a flagship level display. What’s important here is that you’re definitely getting the good quality of AMOLED display and technology on this series thanks to its HDR10+ and DCI-P3 Color Profile.s
One thing we just got let down isn the single firing speaker of the OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G, we wished that they could have made it dual-speakers to be more immersive. But nevertheless the volume is still strong enough for personal consumption, it’s not just that immersive or the same if you are coming from a dual-speaker smartphone.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 processor isn’t a new SOC, but its one of the list that is stable and still capable. Everyday socials, casual gaming and multi-tasking is a piece of cake with this processor and it’s advantage lies more on the 12GB Physical RAM that enables your to multi-task with confidence like doing socials while switching through apps like video editing.
Unpopular to this combination, the advantage of this is the outstanding battery life of the 4600mAh battery. Yes, it’s not 5000 but the paired 80W SUPERVOOC charger is more than enough to cut your battery anxiety, plus this smartphone in our experience lasts more than a day given the right mobile data conditions.
Charging time – 30 minutes to full | 12 minutes to 50%
The OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G has no “fancy” features in its arsenal, they indeed listened to their audience and gave the right package especially for this upper-midrange smartphone. Given that your needs is primarily is photography, socials and premium design then this smartphone should be on top of your list as this smartphone is now available in the Philippines for Php29,999

A lower variant OPPO Reno10 5G is also available powered by Dimensity 7050 and a different set of cameras for Php23,999. This one has a bigger battery of 5000mAh but understandably a feature more need in this price range.
