The Reno lineup is getting new AI capabilities with the new OPPO Reno12 Series 5G. Aside from new hardware and better portrait capabilities, its AI features promise to make life easier and more intuitive with more accessibility options.
OPPO Reno12 Series 5G
Both the Reno12 5G and Reno12 Pro 5G come with a 50MP f/1.8 Sony LYT-600 main camera with PDAF and OIS, and an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide. The Pro variant, however, ups the ante with its 50MP f/2.0 telephoto powered by an S5KJN5 sensor with 2x optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom for better portrait shots. For selfies the base model has a 32MP front-facing camera while the Pro variant has a 50MP selfie shooter.
Portraits can easily be retouched using AI Portrait that now supports autofocus while taking them is now easier thanks to the ability to switch between several zoom levels and on-the-fly adjustments of facial features.
AI Eraser 2.0 retuns on the series and is now boasting up to 98% recognition accuracy for any objects in everyday situations. This allows you to remove unwanted objects or people in the background.
New to the Reno12 Series 5G is AI Studio. As a pre-installed app for both devices, it gives you creative freedom with AI to transform any photo into a digital avatar. A variety of filters and likenesses are available so you can explore to your hearts content as long as it’s connected to the Internet.
They are also implementing AI features on connectivity. Thanks to AI LinkBoost and its 360º Surround Antenna and Intelligent Network Selection, it promises faster speeds in crowded locations, faster network recovery, less lag, more accurate positioning, and minimized interference.
Under the hood, both smartphones come with a MediaTek 7300-Energy developed for Reno running with 12GB RAM on ColorOS 14.0 for seamless performance. The two will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports SuperVOOC 3.0 for 80W charging that claims to charge the smartphones from 1% to 100% in 49 minutes.

The OPPO Reno12 Series 5G starts at PhP 24,999 in the Philippines. The base Reno12 5G is being offered for PhP 24,999 while the Pro variant is set at PhP 34,999.
Pre-orders are ongoing until July 19, 2024 and is available in all OPPO authorized retailers nationwide. If you pre-order you will get a free S29 Night Light Bluetooth speaker along with your new OPPO Reno12 Series 5G smartphone.
