OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 4G officially launches in PH

After a bit of teasing, the OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 4G has officially arrived in the Philippines. Both devices come with the signature OPPO aesthetic that we expect paired with fairly decent specifications for their respective price points.

The OPPO Reno5 5G will be receiving a 6.43-inch OLED panel and the 4G variant’s panel will be AMOLED. Despite the difference in display technology, both screens have the same 90Hz refresh rate and 2400 x 1080 resolution though the latter has a peak brightness of 600nits.

Both smartphones come with the same quad camera setup at the back composed of a 64MP f/1.7 main lens, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and two 2MP f/2.4 shooters for macro and depth sensing. The 4G version does get the leg up in the selfie deparment with its 44MP f/2.4 front camera while the 5G variant has a slightly smaller 32MP f/2.4 selfie shooter.

As expected from OPPO, the Reno5 series will be implementing quite a few new toys on the camera department. This includes AI Highlight Video, Adaptive Brightness Adjustment, Adaptive Dynamic Range, and Adaptive Noise Reduction.

The OPPO Reno5 5G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the Reno5 4G comes with the trusty Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G complemented by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Both of them sport the same 4,300mAh battery capacity. The 5G version, however, has faster charging thanks to its support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 while the 4G model has the 50W SuperVOOC 2.0. Regardless of models, the new OPPO smartphones will be sporting Android 11 out-of-the-box with the brand’s ColorOS 11.1.

Pricing and Availability

The OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 4G is priced at PhP 23,999 and PhP 18,999, respectively. Pre-orders will start today until February 19, 2021. Those who will get either smartphones early will need to pay a non-refundable down payment of PhP 1,000 while the rest of the balance will be paid starting February 20.
