In other news, FIBA officials gave Philippines a go to host one of the three Olympic Qualifying tournaments in July.
From a list that included Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Turkey and Philippines; only Italy, Serbia and Philippines were selected to be the host country for the three Olympic Qualifying tournaments.
The tournaments are set to be played on July 4 to 10, and games in the Philippines will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Teams that might qualify in the tournament are France, Greece, Czech Republic, Latvia, Croatia, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Angola, Tunisia, Senegal, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Italy, Serbia and our very own Gilas Pilipinas.
