Every tech person’s passion point is their PC setup, or their whole studio setup rather. In my point, I have RGB lights in almost every corner in my room giving me the impressions of a high-tech and escape from the usual scenery inside my room. Giving that this is also the Hungry Geeks Studio, we aim it to be impressive when taking photos and videos as you have seen in some of our executions.
That’s why Philips introduced the Ambiglow 4K Monitor 43M6V, a large format monitor with LED Diodes at the bottom that can give bias lighting not only for aesthetics but also for your eye-care. Before we go to the Ambiglow, this monitor is a 60Hz display with HDR capability, ultra-wide color gamut and can also do multiview at the side.
Some gamers want a multi-monitor setup, but if you are like me wanting a large monitor which is 43″ actually then this is the monitor for you. At this size, its hard to focus without proper bias lighting especially if you work at the dark. So that’s why Ambiglow is here to give comfort to your eyes and give additional lighting outside your peripheral vision for added comfort. While you might think this is a small feature, you’ll be surprised that only Philips has this technology embedded in their monitors and even TVs.
Bezels are firm for a 43″ monitor giving it a sturdy feel, it can also be tilted slightly for people with multi level desks like my standing desk for flexibility. Overall it fits my profile in completing the RGB in my room in the desk, lights, and even complementing my Nanoleaf lightings.
Details on the display are great for a MAC with proper color or even punchier color profiles, you just have to thinker with the settings further both in the display and OS for the preference you would need. It has very bright brightness and contrast range given the size, which we had to lower to achieve a better photo result as you can see in our sample photos. At the most this is great for photo and video editors in the basic to advance range due to its ultra-wide color profile.
Menu wise the Philips 436MV6 is simple with dos-like navigation through a 5 axis joystick at the back for faster toggle. It also supports DTS sound via its speakers that is acceptable but honestly if you are using it for a PC setup its most likely you have dedicated speakers already.
The base stand is a wide format angled metal with two legs, elegant in a way that it is similar to high-end TVs you see in appliance stores. We like it actually, the space in between in high enough to display proper recognition in the Ambiglow and that’s why its elevated.
The Philips 436MV6 Ambiglow Monitor is available for Php33,838, for its unique feature of having Ambiglow, ultra wide color range, HDR Capability and a huge 43″ 4K display targets the needs of very specific users. But again, the more unique the product the more it stands out from the sea of monitors in the market. Yes I understand that there is no VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) here, but gaming is not the reason you will buy this monitor but mostly color accuracy in editing photoshop materials, proofing, and even adding visual compliments to your den.
Oh, when you buy this monitor from April 1 to May 31, 2023 you will get also a free stylish Herschel bag worth Php7,490. So its a great deal already since its mostly that you will be really using the bag cause of its reputation in being a reliable bag pack.
