The Pocophone F1 has been hailed as Xiaomi’s flagship killer when it was released back in August 2018. As the cheapest smartphone to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, surely there must be some kind of compromise right?
Well, it seems that the Pocophone F1’s camera isn’t the department that Xiaomi saved money on. In a recent review of DxOMark, the flagship killer’s cameras were tested and achieved a score of 91. Almost matching the iPhone 8’s DxOMark score of 92.
DxOMark complimented the Pocophone F1’s accurate exposures indoors and outdoors, fast autofocus, stabilization, and pleasant colors in all lighting conditions. The smartphone, however, isn’t without its faults since photos can lose detail in low light while there’s limited dynamic range in video.
Given its price, the Pocophone F1 gave an admirable showing despite its faults. It even managed to rival the camera capabilities of the iPhone 8; a smartphone that’s more than double the price. An impressive feat from Xiaomi.
