Rakuten Viber, Globe myBusiness, and GCash team up to empower MSMEs and customers

Gcash, Globe myBusiness, and Rakuten Viber are partnering up to provide micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and their customers with a safer and efficient way to complete transactions through QR codes.

QR codes – made possible by their partnership – will be first made available for merchants on FoodPH, Viber’s own food directory. Participating merchants can now make online food orders more convenient for their buyers. They can now send their GCash QR code to customers, who can then easily scan the code using the GCash app to pay for orders.

New FoodPH merchants can also get their own GCash QR code upon signing up. Meanwhile, existing partners can also get their own QR code via a link provided through the bot on the platform.

Launched in December 2020, FoodPH is Viber’s official food directory. Users can search for a specific type of food, certain cuisines, or look for a dish based on their location. Merchants that are part of the community are carefully screened by Viber, with some of them listed through Globe myBusiness.

Globe myBusiness subscribers who will register will enjoy a few perks like appearing in the first page once they are verified. Viber FoodPH is also featuring some food merchants within the bot in order to encourage customers to buy from local businesses.
