One of The Philippines’ top smartphone brand realme is back at it again to end the year 2022 with a brand new smartphone. Together with the realme Global brand, they debuted the realme 10. Let’s check out what’s inside the box and give you our first impressions.
The contents inside the box of the realme 10 is simple and straight-forward, Once you open up the box, you will be greeted with a smaller box that contains the paperwork, sim ejector tool and a free gray jelly case which we really appreciate. Beneath that is the phone itself, carefully protected with a plastic cover. Finally, at the very bottom, you’ll find the USB-C charging cable and a compact charging brick.
At first glance, it’s not hard to tell that the back of the realme 10 is premium-looking — it has an elegant look that’s sure to catch people’s attention. At the back, you will be greeted with two large smartphone camera lenses, laying it flat on the surface will make it a little bit wobbly but not too distracting when you’re using it that way.
The device that we have is a gray and black color-way and the rear panel is constructed with a light particle design pattern. The combination of the color and textured finish makes the realme 10 eye-catching. We appreciate the subtle color changing effect this finish has especially when subjected to different light conditions.
Moving to the sides of the device, you’ll find the sim card tray on the left which features dual-sim and expandable storage. Over on the right is where you’ll find the volume rocker keys and the lock button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor to provide biometric security. On top is where you’ll find one of the microphones and at the bottom, you’ll find the USB-C port for charging, the main microphone, single bottom-firing speaker and a much-appreciated headphone jack.
Flipping the realme 10 upfront is a large 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display. It has a refresh rate of 90hz to offer smooth animations and features a small punch hole at the top right which houses the 16 megapixel selfie camera. On top of the device is the speaker earpiece but it is only used for calling and not as stereo speakers. The device itself sports very thin bezels at the sides which helps in providing an immersive viewing experience while having a non-distracting chin at the bottom.
Under the hood, the realme 10 is accompanied by a MediaTek Helio G99 Processor built with a 6nm architecture along with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU paired with an octa-core setup. It also comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM with a feature of expanding the RAM up to 5 gigabytes using the on-board memory. As for the storage, you’ll have a choice between 128GB and 256GB. The device runs on realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 and keeping everything powered is a 5,000 mAh capacity battery with support for 33W Super VOOC charging which the company stated that it can charge the device from 0% to 50% in only 28 minutes.
As for the camera, the realme 10 uses a dual camera setup with 50 megapixel primary shooter and with Nightscape and Street Mode 2.0 for different photography styles in various environments. Up front, we have the standard 16 megapixel selfie camera shooter which we are pretty sure that it will take a decent selfie. We’ll check each of them out when we get into it deeper in our full review of the device and give you sample pictures.
The realme 10 seems to be a good mid-range smartphone to consider due to its trendy design, commendable specs and large 5000 mAh battery capacity inside an elegant and slim body. For now, tune in for the upcoming full review of this awesome smartphone from realme.
