The realme 12 4G has launched in the Philippines as the more affordable variant of the realme 12 5G. While the naming scheme points to a different chipset, the 4G variant also comes with a few upgrades including an AMOLED screen and even a Sony LYT600 main camera.
The realme 12 4G now comes with a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 120Hz AMOLED screen compared to the 5G model’s 120Hz IPS display. Its main camera is down to only a 50MP f/1.88 shooter, but its sensor has been upgraded to the Sony LYT600.
Its chipset is now a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685, which lacks the 5G capabilities of the Dimensity 6100+ of the realme 12 5G. Despite the omission of 5G, the chip is still complemented by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, plus microSD storage expansion.
Its selfie camera receives a pixel bump to 16MP with an aperture of f/2.45. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC and will run on Android 14 with realme UI 5.0.
