realme has taken the top spot in the smartphone market in the Philippines for the 1st quarter of 2021. According to Canalys, realme takes up 23% unit share with a 95% annual growth, and 21.3% of total market share. The report also highlights the influx of new realme stores this year, which expanded the reach of the brand especially in high growth areas outside Manila.
Despite the pandemic, realme has shown rapid growth year-on-year growth within the quarter at 142% according to Counterpoint Research. They have also dominated e-commerce space with the highest proportion in online sales at 34%.
realme says that their success can be attributed to their customer-centric philosophy. This revolves around offering top-notch customer service and catering to the needs of their customers from the point of purchase to down to utilizing the product to its full capabilities.
To date, realme has more than 550 concept stores, kiosks, and patner dealers nationwide that cater to product inquiries, sales, and product knowledge before purchase. The brand is also available through e-commerce platforms like Lazada and Shopee to offer additional convenience and safety in the pandemic.
Just in the past few months, the brand has also released several devices into the market like the realme 8 and 8 Pro. Both come with tremendous specifications and has been priced based on the expectations of their fans and supporters.
