The realme Narzo 30A comes in a bright blue box, which is a step away from the brand’s traditional vivid yellow packaging. Despite the difference in color, the smartphone still comes with the usual accessories you would expect from a mainline realme device.
Inside the box is a USB Type-C cable, an 18W Fast Charging wall adapter, some documentation, and a SIM ejector pin. The only thing missing to complete the set is a silicone case, which is a missed accessory that adds to the overall value of the smartphone.
The Narzo 30A packs in a 6.5-inch IPS display that should satiate anyone looking for an entry-level device. Resolution is capped at only 1600 x 720 but details are pretty decent for a sub-FullHD+ smartphone. Colors are decent as well and thanks to its IPS panel, there is minimal color shifting when viewing the display at odd angles.
Performance is provided by a Helio P85 chip courtesy of MediaTek. It is complemented by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. We are not allowed to show benchmarks yet but we can confidently say that we have not encountered performance dips while gaming, watching videos, or just general usage.
The smartphone has a massive 6,000mAh battery and thanks to its mix of display and chipset, is able to provide a ton of usage before needing a charge. Thankfully, it has support for 18W Fast Charging through its USB Type-C port at the bottom.
The rear has also received a bit of TLC as well. No longer has a plain-looking back but is now rocking a “trendy” diagonal stripe design that offers a minimalist look but not a boring one. The Laser Black and Laser Blue variants will be arriving the Philippines both will come with similar looks but only differ in color.
Most smartphones in the market offer a cacophony of camera options for the user. The Narzo 30A is taking a step back is offering a simple camera setup: a 13MP f/2.2 main and 2MP f/2.4 mono lens at the back and a single 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter at the back.
realme is bolstering the imaging options on the Narzo 30A by adding Super Nightscape Mode and various filters like Cyberpunk, Flamingo, and Modern Gold that allows you to flex your creative style.
Taking a few shots using its primary 13MP f/2.2 lens produced natural-looking photos. Colors are not particularly spectacular but details are good and shadows are well-preserved.
Based on what we have seen so far, the realme Narzo 30A is decently positioned as an entry-level contented in the Philippines. Its feature set should be able to satisfy anyone looking for a competent device that will not break the bank.
Pricing, however, has not been announced yet in the Philippines. The Narzo 30A will officially launch in the Philippines on March 25, 2021 and will be hitting the market a few days after. Until its launch date, we will continue testing the smartphone to see if it will be able to shine in the competitive entry-level space.
