Xiaomi is introducing a new entry-level smartphone in the Philippines – the Redmi 12C. Launched globally last January, the smartphone is being positioned under the PhP 9,000 mark and promises a bigger screen and storage as well as longer battery life.
The Redmi 12C comes with a 6.71-inch IPS display though resolution is only 1650 x 720 instead of FullHD+. Xiaomi is equipping it with an entry-level MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage with expandable storage via a MicroSD slot.
Xiaomi keeps its imaging capabilities simple with a 50MP f/1.8 main lens and a QVGA secondary lens at the back with the latter for depth sensing while at the front is a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. The camera app will support HDR and Night Mode for better photo capabilities.
The smartphone will run on Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top. A 5,000mAh battery powers the device although charging speeds is limited to only 10W via its MicroUSB cable.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 12C is priced starting at PhP 5,499 in the Philippines. Four variants will be available locally – 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB for PhP 5,499, PhP 6,499, PhP 7,499, and PhP 8,999, respectively.
You can now get the smartphone via their official Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok stores. Getting any of the three variants will get you a free Mi Compact Bluetooth Speaker 2 worth PhP 599. The top 6GB/128GB model is exclusive via Xiaomi’s online stores and will come with a free Redmi Buds 3 and will come with a PhP 400 discount for a limited time. These bundles and discounts are only available until March 31, 2023.
