Overwatch is a game that is full of surprises, this time, you can play the story of Uprising where Null Sectors or “Bad Omnics” have invaded King’s Row. This is the time where Overwatch was still operational and a team was assigned to rescue King’s Row.
Uprising is a game where four members will need to team up and recapture the city. In the original story, it’s Tracer, Torbjorn, Reinhard and Mercy who are on the mission.
This temporarily removes other modes such as 1 vs 1 and Capture the Flag in Arcade mode. Of course, you will get special Uprising loot boxes are you progress in this mode.
Exclusive in-game items are up for grabs including Cade Oxton versions of their skins.
How’s the gameplay?
The game starts in a sequence underground the subway, you will have to hack into three terminal points to gain positioning of your payload and infiltrate the captured King’s Row power station.
In this point, it’s the usual Null Extremists will be composed of 1-2 types of enemies. This is the easy part as all are vulnerable without shields, but the game progresses once you get your payload dealing with more intense enemies like bastions, eradicators, detonators, slicers and more. The overall goal is to keep the team alive and avoid getting killed by powerful enemies like bastions in Gatling gun mode or even tank mode.
You will encounter special conversations of characters along the game, it’s nice to see each other talking especially Tracer and Reinhardt for once.
The point is not to DIE! Once you’re dead, mercy will either need to revive you or a teammate will manually revive you. This is dangerous if you have teammates with *hero* attitudes of taking on powerful bastions alone like the one in the photo.
One you escorted your payload to the point of King’s Row power station, the payload will detonate to gain entry to the point.
This will alert all robots and four OR14-NS (Original version of orisa) robots are needed to be defeated, the problem is that there are several bastions as well and eradicators that are surrounding the units. So plan your attack carefully, you need to keep yourself alive and defeat the enemy. The most headache will be the bastions in tank mode as they can easily kill tracer, so be careful and utilize each member’s strengths carefully.
So that’s it, that is Overwatch Uprising. It’s interesting to see a 4 player combination where you really have to be aware of each member’s capabilities to survive. It’s just normal level and some players are already dying, how about the more extreme level like Hard, Expert and Legendary?
Note: There is also a mode where you can play with other players, but it will remove the special conversations in the game.
It is quite addicting to be honest, I’ve already played 5x prior writing this review. Perhaps you will need to progress to the harder levels once you’re used to the normal mode. For now, we will try to collect more loot boxes.
So get into your game mode and start playing Overwatch uprising mode, it’s for a limited time only and the goodies are nice as well. It won’t hurt to get these skins 🙂
