The ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro have officially made their debut. They are an updated from last year’s ROG Phone 5 series and come with slightly better specifications. Both devices will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chip with LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Their display is still a 6.78-inch 2448 x 1080 Samsung E4 AMOLED panel but refresh rates have been upped to 165Hz.
Cooling has been improved with the new GameCool6 cooling system. The chip now has a BN Thermal Compound and larger 3D Vapor Chamber and Graphite Sheets in addition to the new AeroActive Cooler 6.
ASUS has partnered with Swedish digital audio company Dirac for the ROG Phone 6 series’ dual speakers for balanced stereo sound effects and immersive audio quality. Battery capacity remains at 6,000mAh with support for 65W HyperCharge.
The ROG Phone 6 Pro gets a slightly different rear with an ROG Vision mini-display, which can be customized via the Armoury Crate app. The Pro variant will also get an 18GB/512GB edition while the vanilla ROG Phone 6 is capped at 16GB/512GB.
